Richard Jack Sekoll, age 79, of 1768 Stannards Road passed
away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Highland Park Health Care Center. He
was born on July 15, 1937 in Willing to John H. and Frances E. Sekoll. On July
24, 1982 in the Whitesville Methodist Church he married Jessie Rose Maidment
Edwards who survives.
Dick graduated from Wellsville High School in 1957 where he
was active in the FFA. He was a lifelong farmer on his family’s homestead and
was a member of the Grange. Dick enjoyed trips to Newfoundland with Jessie
where the loved to fish and hunt moose.
Survivors include his wife Jessie, a stepson, Mike Edwards
of Whitesville; a step daughter, Tracie Edwards of Bolivar; grandchildren,
Jeremy Hunt of Austin, TX., Seth Edwards of Rexville, Magin Edwards of
Wellsville, Emily Edwards of Wellsville, Dylon Edwards of Whitesville, Jessica
Edwards of Shinglehouse, PA., and Christopher Strope of Wellsville; many great
grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ferd Sekoll and Carl Sekoll both of Greenwood and a
sister, Ada Cavagna of Shongo; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving was a
special lady, his God Daughter, Theresa [Doug] Carl.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, a brother, John Sekoll;
a sister, Marguerite Maxwell; a stepson, Charlie Edwards.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 15, from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. His funeral
service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorials in
Dick’s name may be made to charity of the donor’s choice. Burial will take
