Reporter to Rep. Tom Reed: Town hall visitors were mostly local, despite campaign email

Rep. Tom Reed held his weekly media call Tuesday afternoon. Reporter Jason Sample asked this question....
Sample: The Tom Reed For Congress campaign sent out an email "blasting folks" who voiced concerns (at the town hall meetings). Sample said the congressman sought 'common ground.' He asked " how productive is it when the Tom Reed For Congress campaign sends out an email accusing those that showed up to express their concerns...as extreme liberals and organized protesters trained to take over the town hall meeting." Sample said he knew most of the attendees as 'local' residents...not 'shipped' in.
Reed: Well, I will double check what went out from the Tom Reed For Congress campaign...umm...my understanding what was being relayed and portrayed there is exactly what we did." Reed said " we did see there was some organizing in effect." Reed cited a Buffalo News story to that effect. Reed said some were "trying to trap into different positions. He said " at the end of the day I know who I am and what I was trying to do."
