Cheryl L. Haberer, 46, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017. On August 31, 1970, Cheryl was born at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY to John Smith, Sr. and Eleanor Ernst; she attended Haverling High School in Bath, NY. On August 13, 2005, at the Belfast Methodist Church, Cheryl got married to Shawn Haberer, who survives.
Cheryl was a resident of Wellsville, NY for 15 years and will be remembered fondly for her kindness and her sense of humor. Cheryl was very proud of her family; she loved to talk about her children and grandchildren. Cheryl enjoyed listening to music and watching her soaps on television.
In addition to her husband Shawn, Cheryl is survived by her daughters Melissa Gilmer and Ashley Gilmer, both of Dansville, NY, her five beloved grandchildren, her stepmother Susan Smith, a half-brother Brian Smith, a half-sister Sabriana Smith, many aunts and uncles, and several cousins and friends.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, a brother John Smith, Jr., and a half-brother Wayne Allen Ernst.
Friends are invited to call at Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home at 296 North Main Street in Wellsville, NY on Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at which time a Memorial Service will be held, Pastor Greg of the United Methodist Church presiding.
