Jack D. Hewitt “beloved husband”
CONEVILLE, PA---Jack D. Hewitt, 75, of Coneville, passed
away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after
a long illness.
Born on February 3, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan, he was a
son of Carl Oliver and Dorothy Edna Mae Brown Hewitt. In Camp Hill, he married Lila M. Pepperman,
who survives.
Jack attended Galesburg School. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, in
both Korea and Vietnam, continuing his education throughout his military
career.
Jack was a very faithful and caring man who was very
generous to many charities.
Surviving besides his wife are three children, Michelle,
Christine, and John; a brother, Earl L. (Melinda) Huitt; and two sisters,
Virginia Argo and Cynthia Scovel.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and five siblings.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14,
2017 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse,
where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Darell D. Harris,
retired pastor of Oswayo, officiating.
Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.
Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord
military honors on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of
the donor’s choice.
