Obituary: Elizabeth J. "Libby" Bucheit, 74, Coudersport


Elizabeth J. “Libby” Bucheit, 74, of Coudersport, PA, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 in her home.  Born April 4, 1942, in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Angela DeSantis Tauscher.  On November 6, 1965, in Coudersport, she married Leo C. Bucheit, who survives.  They were blessed to have spent 51 years together.  She was employed by Sears in Coudersport for many years.  Libby was a devout member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport and enjoyed volunteering with the ladies at St. Eulalia’s Maternity Closet.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, she cherished holidays and spending time with her family.  She loved shopping trips with her daughters and sisters and always had time for a good book.  Surviving besides her husband, Leo, are:  four daughters, Julia Ann (Michael) Markowski of Mountain Top, PA, Jennifer Sue (Trevor) Saulter of Coudersport, Sonia Lyn (Jason) Villanti of Sayre, PA, and Carol Lee Bucheit of Coudersport;  six grandchildren, Joshua (Shay) Bucheit, Brian Markowski, Ethan Markowski, Emma Saulter, Madison Villanti, and Leo Villanti;  six siblings, Kathryn Germino of Galeton, Kenneth E. Tauscher of Avon Park, FL, Richard D. (Jean) Tauscher of North Chesterfield, VA, Carolyn Lamb of Niagara Falls, NY, Sue (Edwin) Bowman of Wheeling, WV, and Constance (Russell) Hicks of Bath, NY;  nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at St. Eulalia Church, Coudersport on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM.  The Rev. Joseph V. Dougherty will be the Celebrant.  Interment will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport.  Memorials may be made to Cole Memorial Home Health & Hospice, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915, Coudersport Public Library, 502 Park Ave., Coudersport, PA 16915, or St. Eulalia’s Maternity Closet, 6 E.
