ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – Ithaca residents packed the parking lot, outside of the Allegany County Town of Allen Town Hall, for a Congressman Tom Reed Town Hall, late on Saturday afternoon. While there were people there from places like Hornell, in Steuben County, and Allen, Wellsville, Belmont, Belfast and Alfred in Allegany County, many, if not the majority of those present, were from the Tompkins County City of Ithaca.
Congressman Reed spoke on a megaphone, borrowed from a woman in the crowd standing nearby the Corning Republican Congressman.
Reed was asked questions about immigration, Russia and the November election, and at one point, a woman in the crowd asked Reed if he still felt that Ithaca had extremists there. Reed defended his statement about Ithaca having extremists, saying that at least four protesters became very unruly with Ithaca Office staffers, where a sit-in was going on all last week.
