Bath: Domestic dispute turned violent


New York State Troopers from the Bath barracks responded to a domestic dispute overnight which resulted in the arrest of a Bath man.  At approximately 11:30 p.m. on 01/31/17, Troopers interviewed the victim, who stated that during the course of a domestic dispute which turned physical, she was allegedly menaced with a long gun.  State Police Senior Investigator Curt Eaton said Robert D. Eggleston, age 56, of #5346 Buck Settlement Rd., Bath, N.Y. was arrested. He was charged with Menacing, 2nd degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 4th degree; Criminal Obstruction of Breathing; and two (2) counts of Criminal Mischief, 4th degree – all misdemeanors.  It is alleged that during the course of a domestic dispute, Eggleston pointed a rifle at the victim; obstructed her breathing; prevented her from contacting 911; and damaged property within the residence.  Eggleston was arraigned before Town of Bath Justice Chauncey Watches, and remanded to the Steuben Co. Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail, or $10,000.00 property bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Bath Court on 02/08/17 at 3:00 p.m.
