According to John Conrad, Department Public Information Officer, a quick attack by Bath fire crews knocked down the flames rapidly keeping fire and water damage minimal to a small area in one room and smoke throughout the rest. At this time Savona was sent to the Bath station to standby and Kanona was requested to standby at their station. Pulteney was cancelled at this time as well. The Steuben County Fire Investigation team was called to aid in determining the cause of the fire which is ongoing at this time.
The building was owned and occupied by the Deb Harer State Farm Insurance Company, and no one was in the building at the time the fire broke out.
