Bath-based state police responded to a vehicle crash on Interstate 86 eastbound in the Town of Avoca Tuesday.  Investigation revealed that the driver, Emily Woodrum, 30 of Webb City, Missouri was transporting over a hundred puppies in a box van.  The vehicle was traveling in the passing lane when she lost control of her vehicle due to alleged unsafe speed and went off the southbound shoulder, striking the ditch and overturning.  T and R Towing responded and with the assistance of Troopers Mark Bernard, Jordan Sheehan and Pete Peters all of the puppies were removed from the box van.  Five of the puppies sustained minor injuries and were quickly treated by Steuben County SPCA.  The driver of the van was in the process of delivering the puppies to local pet stores.
