On January 13th at 1:51 p.m. the City of Olean Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 116 S. Sixteenth St. Fire units arrived to find a two-story house with heavy fire throughout the first floor. Multiple hose lines were placed in service to bring the fire under control. A search for any victims was completed, and no victims were found. One dog perished in the fire. There was significant fire extension in the stud channels, which required ventilation of the roof and opening of the walls and soffits. One firefighter was sent to Olean General for a medical evaluation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
