Obituary: Lionel G Stowe Bennion, 36, Hume

Hume --- Lionel G Stowe Bennion of 10908 Route 19, who resided 33 years in a family care home where he became family with the Bennion Family, died Monday, January 6, 2025 in his home. He was born on January 15, 1988, in Brooklyn.  

Lionel loved to smile and laugh and enjoyed watching hours of TV especially Family Feud and idolized Steve Harvey.  He especially loved to be surrounded by his family, caregivers and friends.

Lionel had a wonderful team of caregivers that gave him amazing and loving care over the years. The Bennion family would like to thank, Nora Little, Linda Brown, Naomi Masterson, Cathy Morley, Susan White, Michelle Hatch, Elaine Worthington, Brenda Johnson, Cassie Neal and Robert Blake, Candy Hodnett and Jan Mahoney for all their wonderful care.

Lionel also received support and services from Allegany ARC and direct support for many years from John Dolan.                                                        Surviving is his dad, Larry Bennion, a special, friend Michelle Lynn, his mom, Denae Bennion, his siblings, Mike (Brenda) Bennion, Chris Bennion & Michelle Babula, Naomi (Tom) Masterson, JR (Brandy) Bennion and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2024, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Mark Harley, pastor of the Fillmore Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
