From UR Jones Memorial:
We are honored to announce that Jones Memorial Hospital has earned Gold recognition for its efforts to increase organ and tissue donor registrations across the country, through the DoNation Campaign.
DoNation is a national initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), to educate our community about the crucial need for organ and tissue donation and to encourage people to sign up as organ and tissue donors. More than 100,000 Americans are awaiting a life-saving transplant. One person is added to the waitlist every 8 minutes.
Since HRSA’S organ donation campaign began 13 years ago, partners have helped over 662,500 people register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. Thanks to these efforts, more organs are available for life-saving transplants, helping people across the country live longer, healthier lives. Between October 2023 and September 2024, Jones Memorial Hospital, along with 26 additional Western New York Hospital’s, actively participated in this campaign to earn this federal recognition.
Congratulations to our entire team on this initiative!
