Village of Dansville - Chief Shannon Griese reports a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian.
On December 2, 2024, at approximately 6:19 a.m. the Livingston County 911 center received a call from citizens who witnessed a motor vehicle accident in the area of Main Street and Clara Barton Street, in the Village of Dansville, with a reported pedestrian struck.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Tarry Priestly, age 67 of Dansville New York, was walking in the roadway, when she was struck by a motor vehicle. The operator of the vehicle and other witnesses assisted in first aid prior to EMS arriving.
Priestly was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Dansville EMS along with Livingston County EMS. Priestly succumbed to her injuries at Strong Hospital.
Assisting the Dansville Police Department with the investigation were members of the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Dansville Fire Department, Dansville Ambulance, and Livingston County EMS.
Dansville Police would like to thank the citizens who helped the victim before first responders arrived.
At this time the investigation is ongoing.
