Bolivar man in Livingston County Jail without bail

GENESEO - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Bolivar, NY resident on a felony bail jumping charge.

On October 16th, 2023 the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division commenced an investigation into a possible felony bail jumping. It is alleged that the suspect, 40-year-old David Phearsdorf, failed to appear at his scheduled jury trial in Livingston County Court.

On November 25th, 2024 Phearsdorf was located and taken into custody. Phearsdorf was transported to the Livingston County Jail where he was turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Phearsdorf was later arraigned in Livingston County Court before Honorable Judge Jennifer Noto. The Judge did remand Phearsdorf to the Livingston County Jail on no bail. Phearsdorf will return back to County Court at a later date.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Phearsdorf at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and did appear to represent the people.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division and the New York State Police.
