The daughter of James and Norma Adams Marcia was born on June 7, 1953. She grew up in Alfred and attended Alfred Almond Central School. June 27, 1970 Marcia married Beryl Bird of Andover. They moved to Canaseraga in 1978 where she was a homemaker, and raised 3 daughters. Then for several years Marcia worked as a cleaner at Alfred State College. For a short time she sold real estate. Most recently she was the Clerk for the Village of Canaseraga.
Together with her husband she enjoyed camping, spending time on the farm, and canning. She was an excellent cook and especially liked baking cookies for her family. Marcia also liked watching the birds by her window and decorating their home for the holidays with Christmas being her favorite.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Beryl, 1 sister Margo (David) Jennings of Belfast, 1 uncle Donald Adams of Hamlin, 3 Daughters Susanne (Jon) Halsey, April Din (Justin Tam), Jennifer (Josh) Titus of Dansville. 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. Special friends Stacy Dean Prince and Fannie Lubic.
The family will receive friends on September 5 at the Bender-Brown and Powers Funeral home in Hornell from 5 to 7. A graveside service will be September 6 in the Canaseraga Cemetery at 11 AM. A celebration of life will follow the service at the Canaseraga American Legion.
