Obituary: John H. Ellsessor, 82, Angelica

Angelica - John H. Ellsessor age 82 of High Street, passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Angelica, NY on November 17, 1941 the son of John Ellsessor and Mildred Case Ellsessor. He was a lifelong area resident. John joined the US Army and proudly served 3 years, and was a life member of the Angelica American Legion Post #414, and had also been past commander. He was a retired Union Iron Worker from Local Union #33, and attended the First Baptist Church in Angelica. John was also a gun lover, a member of the NRA, the Canaseraga Conservation Club, and was an avid hunter.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Aaron Ellsessor, his wives Diane, Betty, Lillian and Leila.
He is survived by his son Shayne (Michelle) Ellsessor of Angelica, Brett (Heidi) Ellsessor of Belfast, his daughter Jennifer (Rick) Hunt of Angelica, his brother William “Bill” (Sue) Ellsessor of Angelica, his sister Carol (Charles) Dibert of Angelica, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday (August 16, 2024) from 11am-1pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica, with a Funeral Service at the conclusion of Calling Hours at 1:00pm with Pastor Marc Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be at Until the Day Dawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
