On August 4, 2019, SP Olean Troopers arrested Lester L. Baker Jr., 51, of Portville, NY for Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment of Property.
An investigation of a July 25, 2019 incident at a residence on State Route 417 in the town of Portville revealed Baker had fired a bolt from a crossbow at a woodchuck in his yard which missed its target and struck a neighboring house.
Baker was arrested and released with appearance tickets for Portville Town Court where he is due to appear later this month.
