BRONX, New York – New York Gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe (L) remains the only candidate not funded by special interests or lobbyists, an increasingly important quality as the pay-to-play histories of his opponents are brought to light. For two years, the Cuomo administration fought against releasing emails involving communications with lobbyist and former Cuomo aide Todd R. Howe, spending more than $200,000 on outside counsel after The New York Times went to court seeking the documents through the Freedom of Information Act. Now that the documents have been made public, few count themselves surprised at the contents.
"We should not be surprised that his majesty, King Andrew, would use six figures of tax payer dollars in an attempt to cover up the culture of corruption he has built,” said Sharpe. “While he may or may not be directly involved in any wrong-doing, he recognizes that shining a light on the thugocracy he’s created reveals a clearer picture of his horrific leadership of our state."
Larry Sharpe (L) is a Bronx native, a Marine Corps veteran, an entrepreneur, and a management consultant with 15 years of experience mentoring international executives, entrepreneurs & sales people. He is also a teacher, previously serving as a guest instructor for business management and leadership at institutions such as Yale University, Columbia University, Baruch College and John Jay College. He is now running for Governor of New York in order to make education more effective through innovation, reform the criminal justice system to focus on rehabilitation, and build an economy that works for all of New York State.
