Obituary: Carl D. Erway, 76, of Ulysses, PA
Carl D. Erway, 76, of Ulysses, PA, died Saturday, August 18,
2018 in his home. Born March 19, 1942,
in Ulysses, he was the son of Lewis Harold and Edith Blake Erway. On April 18,
1964, in Duluth, MN, he married the former Diane F. Elickson, who
survives. He and his wife owned and
operated a dairy farm for many years. Carl was a member of the Gold Church,
Lewisville Lodge #556 F & AM in Ulysses, Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company,
and served as an ambulance driver for Tri-Town Ambulance. He was the self proclaimed Mayor of
Newfield. Surviving besides his wife,
Diane, are: three children, Denise
(Kevin) Walaski of Ulysses, Sandy (Matthew) Page of Spencer, MA, and Brett
(Lori) Erway of Ravenna, OH; nine
grandchildren, Zachariah Erway, Dylan Walaski, Nicholas Erway, Ryan Erway,
Vincent Erway, Grace Erway, Ethan Page, Aidan Page, and Lily Page; a great-grandson, Brayson Walaski; a brother, Elwin (Marion) Erway of
Hammondsport, NY; a sister, Thelma
Davidson of Vernon, CT; nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by a son,
Eric Carl Erway; and a sister, Eleanor Perkins.
Friends may call Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 –
9:00 p.m. at the Gold Church, 2402 SR 49 W, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services
will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. The
Rev. Frank Mickle will officiate.
