Fatal motorcycle collision on Route 400 - speeds hit 100+

PRESS RELEASE
On August 2, 2018 at approximately 10:10 p.m. a marked state police patrol unit was stationary in a U-turn on State Route 400 just before the Transit Road exit.  The Trooper observed two motorcycles traveling north bound over one hundred miles per hour.  The Trooper pulled out of the U-turn to attempt a traffic stop.  One unidentified motorcycle continued on State Route 400 NB and the 2013 Yamaha exited on the Transit Road exit ramp.  The Yamaha lost control and the operator was ejected after striking a guide rail.  The operator Nathan J. Knab, 29 of Lancaster, NY was transported to Erie County Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
