Wellsville: Siemen's/Dresser Rand won't purge all jobs

Relentless headlines have focused on the demise of Wellsville. Congressman Tom Reed confirmed today that, that news isn't totally complete. Despite congressional efforts, the manufacturing side of Dresser-Rand, a Siemen's business may push union workers to the curb...white collar, well-paid professional employee's may stick around. Rep. Reed told Wellsville Regional News today that "Siemen's is keeping...a group of engineering, white collar...professional, administrative  employee's in that location in Wellsville." Reed said "speaking with the head of Siemen's directly..." they would be Center's of Excellence (correctly stated Product Competency Centers)." Reed said he believes 70-100 white collar worker will be retained, even if the manufacturing side ends. Reed said " that is a positive." Wellsville mayor Randy Shayler and town supervisor Shad Allsworth were unavailable for comment today.
