Steuben County: The drug arrests and raids keep rolling in

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on June 6,
2018, investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Criminal
Investigation Unit arrested Jeffery S. Bovee, age 56, of Addison, New York. The
Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a property on Hallett Road,
Addison New York and recovered a large amount of suspected cocaine, suspected
crystal methamphetamine and items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine
including three ounces of suspected methamphetamine oil, with a total estimated
street value of over $16,000 dollars. The search warrant was the result of a
joint investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Bath Police
Department, the City of Corning Police Department and the City of Hornell
Police Department. The Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the New York State
Police CSORT team for narcotic trafficking and manufacturing. Mr. Bovee was
charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine in the third degree, arraigned in
the Addison Town Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
Also arrested at the warrant location was Donald Strope, age 30, of Addison,
New York and Norman Smithers of Lindley, New York. Both were charged with
Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and
released on appearance tickets to appear in Addison Town Court at a later date.
The investigation continues with
additional charges possible for Mr. Bovee.
