Hornell, NY - Ian Golden — husband, father, small-business owner, and candidate for 23rd District Congressional seat — has secured the endorsement of Richard Argentieri, Common Council Member and Hornell native, representing the City of Hornell’s 4th Ward.
“I am pleased to endorse Ian Golden for Congress.” Argentieri said. “Ian is exactly what we need in our Congress right now. He has the intelligence, focus and compassion to accomplish the necessary things for communities to grow strong and prosper. When I first met Ian over a year ago, he immediately captured my attention with his grassroots message that this is not about politics or party affiliation but rather about people.”
Argentieri continued, “Ian is well-grounded in our communities and in life. Raising a young family with his wife and running his own business, he completely understands the needs of the people, primarily because he is one of them. Again, it is not a political agenda, it is a people agenda, and that is why I strongly support Ian in the primary on June 26th because virtue, authenticity and trust are what voters respond to and how we will win in November.”
In response to the endorsement Golden commented, “I'm thankful for the confidence, support, and endorsement of Councilman Argentieri. Born, raised, and with a family of his own, Rich's roots run deep in Hornell. He's a critical component of our dynamic manufacturing base, wears multiple hats serving his community, and is able to see beyond party-line politics for the good of his family and community. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with Rich, coordinating representation from the neighborhoods of Hornell to the halls of D.C. to bring new energy and integrity to representing our District.”
Richard Argentieri won his seat on the City of Hornell Common Council when he defeated Norman McCumiskey (R) in 2017.
