Donald T. Geffers, 83, of 1940 East Drive, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Jones Memorial in Wellsville, NY.
He was born in Wellsville on February 4, 1934, the son of Theodore J. and Ruth Brandes Geffers.
On June 28, 1953 in Wellsville, he married Grace J. Pero, who survives.
He was a graduate of the Wellsville Central School, Class of 1953.
He had resided in Belmont, NY prior to moving to Wellsville four years ago.
He retired on January 1, 1996 as a welder with the AirPreheater Corp. in Wellsville.
He was a member for 50 years at the C&MA Church of Wellsville and most recently attended the Brookside Wesleyan Church of Wellsville. He had been a Lay Minister for 9 years and also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving besides his wife, Grace, are: two daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Snyder of Westfield, PA and Linda (Tom) Cook of Liverpool, NY; two sons, Mark (Jan) Geffers of Nangdon, ND and Andy (Holly) Geffers of Plainville, MA; four sisters, Nancy (Glenn) Schaefer of Readding, CA, Margaret Benedict of Bradenton, FL, Joanne Wilkins of Wellsville, and Janet (Bobby) Pearse of Fort Mill, SC; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Betty Geffers, two brothers, Forest and Dale Geffers, a son, Timothy B. Geffers, and a great-grandson, Chance Daniel Snyder.
Friends may call at the Brookside Wesleyan Church in Wellsville on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the services following. Pastor Robin George will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
