The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Town of Addison resident in connection to a residential burglary complaint filed with the Sheriff’s Office on July 2, 2016. On this date, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of (2) men posing as law enforcement officers who entered a residence on Little Road in the Town of Woodhull and allegedly stole $1,000 from a bedroom while a young adult was located inside the residence. The Sheriff’s Office conducted an ongoing investigation into the reported burglary and on December 8, 2016 arrested Neil E. Davis, age 42, of Bald Hill Road in the Town of Cameron. At that time, Davis was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Impersonation of a Police Officer, and Petit Larceny for his alleged involvement in that incident and remains incarcerated in the Steuben County Jail.
On Thursday, the Addison Police Department stopped a motor vehicle in the Village of Addison after a string of larcenies were reported in the Town of Tuscarora. During the vehicle and traffic investigation, the operator of the vehicle was detained and subsequently interviewed by Deputy Sheriffs later in the afternoon at the Addison Police Department. During the interview, the subject spoke with the Deputy Sheriff and Criminal Investigator about his alleged involvement in the string of reported larcenies on this date as well as his alleged involvement in the incident on July 2, 2016 in the Town of Woodhull with Davis. Charged last night with (1) count of Burglary in the Second Degree, (1) count of Criminal Impersonation of a Police Officer, and (1) count of Petit Larceny, was Christopher Dixon, age 49, of County Route 101 in the Town of Addison. The charges stem for Dixon’s alleged involvement in the July 2 incident with Neil Davis. Dixon was arraigned in the Town of Campbell Justice Court where he was remanded to the Steuben County Jail on No Bail until his reappearance in court on February 6, 2017 to answer the charge. Further charges are pending in regards to the string of larcenies investigated by the Sheriff’s Office on February 2, 2017.
Deputy Sheriffs and Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office also conducted a search of a residence on Hallett Road in the Town of Addison last night where several thousand dollars in tools and other equipment were recovered from the recent reported larcenies. While most of the recovered property has been identified, if any member of the public has missing tools or equipment from the Southern end of Steuben County, they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 607-622-3911 and report what items they have missing.
