Mary J. Jones: Loving Mother,
grandmother, great grandmother
Mary J. Jones, 86, of Obi, left her earthly home on
Wednesday, February 1, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior. Mary was born February 13, 1930, in Cuba, to
Gerald and Grace Hunt Jordan. On
December 31, 1949, at the Obi Methodist Church, she married Floyd Jones who
predeceased her on July 11, 2001. She was a graduate of Portville Central
School. Mary was a beautiful artist specializing in cake decorations. In 1975 she went to work at AVX ceramics
until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist
Church and a former member of the Obi Community Church where she taught Sunday
school for several years. Her favorite past times were quilting at the Library
in Little Genesee, doing crafts for nursing homes, and baking and decorating
cakes. She was especially fond of the
time she spent with her grandchildren. Mary was blessed with 3 Children: Bruce
(Lene) Jones, Carol (Lester) Baker, Jeff (Debbie) Jones, 7 Grandchildren, David,
Eric, Julie, Albert, Pam, Chris, and Jennifer 16 great grandchildren; One Brother Jim (Lois) Jordan
and 9 Very Special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by four
siblings Buck, Bob, Randall, and Janice.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2017
from 2-4 & 7-9 at the West Clarksville Baptist Church, 9005 County Rd 5
(Daggett Hollow), Obi, New York where funeral and committal services will be
held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Wayne Hart will officiate. Burial will be in West Genesee Cemetery, Town of Genesee,
New York.
