Belmont - Eleanor C. Ryan, 92, of State Route 244, passed away peacefully Saturday (February 11, 2017) at the Wellsville Manor.
Born in Belmont, November 13, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Angie (Smith) Graham, she was a lifelong area resident, and had attended the Belmont Central School. On July 23, 1942, she married Frank A. Ryan who predeceased her in 1978. Eleanor was a dedicated member of the former Belmont Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in many aspects, such as Sunday School Teacher, singing in the choir, the Women’s Guild, and also served as custodian. In addition she was also known for cooking church dinners for fundraising.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, her daughter Roberta Ryan, her sister Jessie Hoff, her brothers Percy, James, Robert, Aaron Graham, and 1/2 brother Olin Smith.
She is survived by her son Jim (Norine) Ryan of Angelica, Celia (Fred) Helsley of VA, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, a special niece and caretaker Denise Cline of Belmont, and several other nieces, and nephews.
The family will be present 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue in Angelica, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., with Deacon Frank Pasquale officiating. Burial will be in the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
