Allegany County: Nunda man gets limited jail time for sharing sex video of preteen and man

A Nunda man cut a sweet deal after he was accused of sharing cell phone video involving a sex act between a 12-year-old and a 40-year old. The crime occurred in Hume of May of 2016. In Allegany County court today, Herman J. Hassell, 48, of Nunda was sentenced to six months in the Allegany County Jail. He was allowed to pleaded down from serious felony crimes to a misdemeanor offense of endangering the welfare of a child. However, Hassell is serving a 10-year prison sentence in Livingston County for crimes there. He was convicted of rape and attempted criminal sex act. He is currently at Elmira Correctional.
