Belmont, NY - As of 9:00 p.m. on June 6, 2025,
Allegany County has issued a State of Emergency related to dangerous flooding
and road conditions. Further, Allegany County has issued an Emergency Order to
take affect at 9:15 p.m. on June 6, 2025, which institutes a temporary Travel
Ban in the Towns of Cuba and West Almond, as well as a Travel Advisory in the
Towns of Almond, Friendship, New Hudson, and Rushford. As soon as travel is
deemed to be safe, these orders will be rescinded immediately.
For the remainder of the County, please
check your routes and monitor weather conditions and forecasts prior to travel.
A Travel Ban means the roads are
officially closed. Only emergency travel is allowed (police, ambulance, fire,
doctors, nurses, etc.). Non-emergency travelers may be cited for a violation of
law when traveling during a travel ban.
A Travel Advisory means that roads are
not closed, but that no unnecessary travel is advised.
