Man jailed in Potter County on escape charge
Coudersport police report the arrest of Michael W. Roberto, 41, of Emporium, PA. He was charged by officer William R. Wenzel with escape and default in required appearance. He was remanded to Potter County Jail without bail. According to District Magistrate Bryan Phelps, the man “failed to appear for prior sentencing and committal.” He was deemed a flight risk. On May 5th, Roberto pleaded guilty to driving while his license was suspended or revoked after being suspended or revoked for a DUI and/or refusing the breathalyzer test. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 6th.
