Margaret D. “Meggie” Wilson
May 20, 1990 - January 5, 2024
WELLSVILLE – Margaret Delaney “Meggie” Wilson, 33, passed away peacefully Friday (January 5, 2024) at the Hart Comfort House of Allegany County surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born on May 20, 1990 in Buffalo to Edward T. and Nancy C. (Ellis) Wilson, Jr. She was a 2011graduate of Wellsville Central School.
In addition to her parents, Meggie is survived by her twin brother, Sam (Margot Hickey) Wilson; two sisters, Emma (Zack Sisson) Wilson and Grace Wilson; her Aunt Anne and Uncle Ken Geist, Aunt Luana Ellis and Uncle John Stengel, Aunt Sue Ellis and Uncle Dan Hayton, Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Robert Radel, Uncle Michael Ellis, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Kenny Price, Aunt Bea and Uncle Eric Wilson, Aunt Deb and Uncle Scott Wilson, Aunt Berneata and Uncle Richard Bargar; special friend Barb Mansfield; and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Edward and Phyllis Wilson, Sr. and John and Frances Ellis, as well as her cousins Shawn Wilson and Robert Stengel.
Meggie had many loves in her life. She loved music. She loved to dance. And she loved Barney, the purple dinosaur. For her, these three loves rolled into one. She was obsessed with all things Barney — the songs, the dancing and the endless joy of watching Barney videos.
Meggie loved going for walks and she loved going for car rides, especially if they included two of her other favorite loves; shopping and eating out. Sprague’s and Texas Hot were her favorite eateries as they both served her favorite foods, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. For dessert, a pudding cup topped off every meal. Meggie loved fashion magazines and every day was a good day when she could dress up nicely and with a head band in her curly hair.
But more than these, Meggie loved people and her many pets. She was a people watcher and would often reach out and touch them on the face or give pounds and hi-fives to friends, family and strangers. She gained much satisfaction and comfort from her kitty and doggie.
Meggie was truly loved by her mother, father, brother, sisters, grandparents, her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was also loved by her many caregivers at Allegany-Steuben Arc, Jan and Bev’s Homecare and Wellsville Central School. God placed her in their lives these brief 33 years to show them the essence and excitement of true love. Each day was magical and each night ended with star lights rotating on her bedroom ceiling. The simplicity of the love and wonder of a child.
There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Saturday (January 13) from 2 – 4 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover.
