Obituary: Connor Elise McCullough, 23, Wellsville

Connor Elise McCULLOUGH, 23, of Wellsville, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends in Jones Memorial Hospital.  Born July 6, 2000, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Mark McCullough and Tawny Steadman.  Connor was a 2018 graduate of Wellsville Central School.  Connor was a miracle baby.  The culmination of a long-awaited dream.  The reality of her was more than we could have hoped for.  She was a fierce and loyal friend with a huge heart that never faltered.  Connor found beauty in the simplest of things.  Photography, painting, coloring, and rock collecting were artistic pursuits that spoke deeply to her.  Mostly, she found beauty in those whom she loved.  She was a quiet, sensitive soul, wise beyond her years - with a mischievous side.  She always tried to make others laugh and be happy.  She was the joy of our lives.  We picture her now, in the arms of the angels, with her grandfathers and uncles.  We will never understand why she had to go, but knowing that she’s with them brings us some peace as we try to navigate this journey without her.  Go rest high on that mountain our sweet daughter.  We will meet again.  “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”  Surviving are: her mother, Tawny (Don) McCullough of Wellsville; her father, Mark McCullough of Whitesville; maternal grandmother, Carol Jean Steadman of Rexville; paternal grandmother, Mary McCullough of Whitesville; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.  She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Wells Steadman; paternal grandfather, Robert McCullough; and two uncles, Jeffrey Steadman and David Miles.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY.  Friends and family are invited to a meal following at the Wellsville VFW.  Memorials may be made to a drug rehabilitation program of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.
