Dale would tell you himself that he was a jack of all trades
and master of none. He held several jobs
but had to quit working due to health issues.
In 2012, he was robbed and severely beaten. After a long road of recovery, it was
determined that Dale could no longer live on his own and spent his last
remaining years at the Corning and Bath Arbor group homes. Many thanks go out to the staff at both homes
for their dedication and kindness. It
will not be forgotten. Also, a huge
thank you goes out to the residents that were truly considered family by
Dale. He loved them all.
If there was one phrase to describe Dale, it would be,
"He had a huge heart." Even
though Dale had little, he shared whatever he had with the people around him
and would give the shirt off his back if he thought someone else needed it more
than him. He also loved a good joke and
was always ready to tell you a joke or two.
He laughed so hard just trying to tell them sometimes.
Dale is survived by a brother, Larry Neilson, two sisters,
Lorraine Neilson (Dale Scofield), Carol
(Gary)Shaffer. Also surviving
are his nephews, David McGuire and Brett Scofield, his niece, Abby (Erick)
Poore and their children, Braedyn (Julia)Poore, Tyler (Alicia) Allison Raegan
Poore, his niece, Jessica (Rocky) Searle and their children, Taylor and Coleman
Searle and a great nephew, Trace Allison.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience
