Wellsville: Donation of Moving Wall Book to Dyke Street Museum

Donation of Moving Wall Book to Dyke Street Museum November 4, 2020 – Picture: Janice Riley, Commander Brent Roberts, Past Commander Nate Scott, Marsha Sick, Past Unit Auxiliary President Vickie Scott, Denis Dahlgren, Stu Blitz and Cyril “Skip” Merrick.

Denis Dahlgren was instrumental in anything that we asked during this time from making additional copies, to taking pictures and any odd job that was asked of him.  Even though he himself was not a veteran, his brother was during the Vietnam war and he truly appreciated all that was being put into bringing the wall to Wellsville.  He has gone so far as to make this wonderful book of memories that still today holds many unforgettable events that took place those 4 days.  To him, Post 702 is eternally grateful.

Stu Blitz was instrumental in dedicating his time and perseverance to get the “Moving Wall” to Wellsville.

Chairperson for the event were Nathan and Vickie Scott.  Nate was Post 702 Commander at that time and Vickie was Unit 702 Auxiliary President.

The other chairs for dedicated purposes were:

JANET MARBLE – ADVERTISING & COMMUNICATION

LYNN MANNING & DEBBIE MEYERS – VOLUNTEERS

DIANE OSTRANDER – CEREMONIES

TOM & CATHY NEUGENT – LOCATION LOGISTICS

JAN RILEY – EMERGENCY SERVICES

These chairs did a fantastic job of assembling people, the field set up, advertising, the motorcycle ride, having emergency services on site to the education of bringing in school children all the effort put forth into the ceremonies that took place and guarding the wall 24/7.  Nate and Vickie want to take this time once again to Thank everyone that worked in any way to make this such a success and honor to honor and host the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall during May 2008.
