The 15-member Allegany County Legislature is controlled exclusively by the GOP. There isn't a single Democrat voice. But, that didn't seem to matter Monday afternoon. There was some friction with Republicans. With the GOP in control of the county, as it has been for decades, approval of the reduced county tax rate budget should have glided through. It did not Monday afternoon. Three of the 15 Republican legislators voted against the 2021 budget, to include Root, Barnes and Fanton.
