CAMP HILL, Pa.---David “Dave” E. Estes, of Camp Hill,
formerly of Oswayo, passed away September 27, 2020, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital
after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 16, 1966 in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of
Richard R. “Dick” and Barbara Loudenslager Estes.
Dave graduated from Oswayo Valley High School, Class of
1984, in Shinglehouse and was a graduate of Lock Haven University with a degree
in Computer Science. He moved to Harrisburg to take a job with the Pennsylvania
Department of Human Services, which he retired from as a Senior Systems Analyst
after 30 years of service.
Dave loved all things food and would travel great distances
to try some obscure, out of the way restaurant that no one had ever heard of
before. He also enjoyed camping with his friends at Oneida Campground in New
Milford, PA.
Dave is survived by his best friend and longtime companion,
Richard A. Schaeffer of Lebanon; his brothers; Douglas (Bonita) Estes and
Dennis Estes, both of Shinglehouse, and Daniel (Sabrina) Estes of Rincon,
Georgia; many nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
Dave was predeceased by his parents. His brother, Donald Estes, passed away on
November 14, 2020.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
