Flames consume Belfast home

A late-night fire Sunday consumed a home in Belfast. Firefighters were alerted at 11:20 p.m. to respond to 94 South Main Street. When the Belfast Fire Chief arrived at the scene, he told 911 "the house is fully involved." Assisting Belfast at the scene were crews and equipment from Houghton, Angelica and New Hudson. Cuba and Belmont were placed on standby. The Allegany County Fire Coordinator and fire investigators also responded. There was no initial word if there were any injuries. Sone units began leaving the scene at 1:29 a.m. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
