New charges filed in Wellsville murder case
A new charge has been filed against one of the eight
defendants accused in the murder of a man in his Main Street apartment in
Wellsville in March. 17-year-old Justin L. Darden of Wellsville was first
indicted on seven counts. His initial charges included
second-degree murder, kidnapping, manslaughter, first-degree gang assault and
conspiracy. On Monday at 11 a.m., State Police added a new count. The teen was further
charged with second-degree felony assault. He was released to a third party. Note:
Despite Darden’s age, the Allegany County court agreed in July to release the
teen’s name based on the seriousness of the charges.
