State Police have arrested a Richford man after he allegedly
fired a weapon in the direction of two troopers in the town of Richford then
fled the area. 28-year-old James Haines
has been charged with felony first-degree attempted murder. Additional charges are pending.
On Thursday troopers patrolled to a home on Light Road in

the troopers then fled. No troopers were
injured.
An investigation led troopers to a location off State Route

with police investigators, Haines surrendered to troopers early this morning.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the New York State
Police Special Operations Response Team, Tioga County Sheriff’s Department,
