Saturday nine veterans from the Bath VA Center were escorted
from Bath to the ACVVO Camp in Alma to enjoy a picnic and fishing. As they
passed through Allegany County's towns and villages they were greeted by
supporters. In Wellsville bikers from
the Patriot Guard and Legion Riders led the procession down Main Street and
underneath an arch formed by the Emerald Hook and Ladder truck and the Cuba
Fire Department truck. Wellsville's giant flag was supposed to be suspended from
the ladders but prevailing winds prevented the display. In Wellsville along
with a color guard from the Legion, the public lined the streets expressing
their pride and thankfulness for the veteran's duty.
