Mrs. Swick was born on Oct. 28, 1930 in Wellsville to Lewis and Katherine Swick. On Oct. 3, 1947 in Friendship, she married William H. Swick, who predeceased her on May 2, 2011.
Marjorie worked as a nurse’s aide for many years, most notably for Cuba Hospital in Cuba and Mary’s Nursing Home in Wellsville.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Dale Ronald Swick of Tampa, Fla. and Andrew S. Swick of Corning and a daughter, Verna Beth Ritter of Belmont; eleven grandchildren, Shawn Davis, Jeremy Swick, Misty Rockhold, George Bliss, Darcy Lorow, Brandy Swick-Dunn, Brett Swick, Seth Swick, Micah Swick, Tina McRae, and Christopher Gowdy; 21 great grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Kearstin, Tony, Andrew, Shyann, Shyla, Desalyn, Shawn, Hope, Devin, Zoe, Bridgette, Keira, Joshua, Shawn, Jacob, Jenna, Brian, Ashley, and Jacob; six great great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Along with her husband of 63 years, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brothers, James Ramsell and Robert Ramsell and her sisters, Laura Sampson, Doris Harrington, and Elizabeth Hurd.
Marjorie found great satisfaction in nurturing her family and being supportive of her husband, who owned Swick and Sons in Friendship for more than 15 years. She was a longtime member of Riverside Assembly of God Church in Wellsville. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive, Wellsville. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Fred Francisco of Riverside Assembly of God officiating.
