County Leaders to Convene in Albany

Hundreds of county delegates from across the state will gather next Monday, 1/28, through Wednesday, 1/30, for the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) Legislative Conference at the Desmond Hotel in Albany.

Attendees will participate in bipartisan standing committee meetings, training workshops, policy discussions, keynote addresses, and business meetings.

County leaders are watching several policy decisions unfolding at the state level that will impact local governments statewide. NYSAC and its members are specifically watching:

Attendees will develop and vote on a series of resolutions to address these and other concerns.

Conference workshops will address emerging policies, leadership training, government innovation, and the myriad of programs and services administered by counties.

"There's tremendous value for county leaders in attending this conference, taking the time to learn about the timely issues impacting counties, sharing best practices with colleagues, and working together to advocate for local taxpayers," said Charles H. Nesbitt, NYSAC president and Orleans County Chief Administrative Officer.
