Allegany Arc promotes Christina Lyon to Vice President of Vocational Services

WELLSVILLE, NY – Allegany Arc, a human services provider that provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, is pleased to announce the promotion of Christina Lyon to Vice President of Vocational Services. In her new position, Christina will conduct new business research and development, while continuing to oversee Allegany Arc’s Vocational Division.

Christina began her career at Allegany Arc in 2005 as a Direct Support Professional before becoming a College Mentor, College Mentor Team Leader, Senior Manager of Vocational Services and eventually becoming the Associate Director of Vocational Services and then Director of Vocational Services. Christina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from St. Bonaventure University, is a Leadership Allegany Graduate, a level II Benefits Advisor trained by the Employment and Disability Institute at Cornell University, as well as a Certified Inclusivity Assessor. Christina also holds several certificates related to Vocational Assessment, Job Development, Job Coaching and program Management.  
Christina credits her success to her team of coworkers. “We have an amazing group of staff in the Vocational Department. They work hard every day to help the individuals we support reach their vocational goals. Having a job gives everyone personal meaning to their life, it is important to our health and well-being, it gives one a sense of belonging and it is a truly humbling feeling to help someone achieve their goal of employment.” said Lyon.
