State Police investigate a fatal vehicle - pedestrian accident in Sodus

On August 11, 2018, at approximately 12:41 p.m. state police investigated a vehicle-pedestrian fatal accident on Ridge Road in the town of Sodus. Doris Richardson, age 94, from Sodus, was killed when she was struck by a passing motorist while she was getting her mail on Saturday. Terry Raymond, age 47, from Wolcott, was traveling eastbound on Ridge Road when Richardson was crossing the road southbound.  Raymond took evasive action but was unable to avoid striking Ms. Richardson. Richardson was taken to Strong Hospital by Mercy Flight where she was pronounced deceased. The investigation is continuing.
