An early morning fire caused heavy damage to a home at 115 Irving Street in Olean. In a statement, the fire department said "upon arrival crews found heavy fire conditions on the exterior and in the attic area. After many efforts trying to gain access to the attic, crews were pushed back by the roof collapsing and switched to a defensive attack."
No injuries were reported. Tax records show the home was purchased in 2006 by Douglas E. Phillips of 115 Irving Street. The home is assessed at $53,500. The blaze remains under investigation.
