Crossville, TN/Hornell - John R. Foster, 81, of 119 Hollaran Lane, passed away Wednesday (August 8, 2018) in Crossville, TN with his daughter by his side.
Born in Hornell, NY, January 6, 1937, the son of Howard and Elizabeth (Smart) Foster, he had resided in Crossville, TN with his daughter Deb for the past several years. On July 27, 1954 John married the former Lucy Parmelee who predeceased him on January 23, 2008. John retired as a truck driver from the L.C. Whitford company in Wellsville and Alfred. John enjoyed farming and after his move to Tennessee, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Lucy, a son; David Foster in 2010 a great-grandson; Dokata Brace and a brother; Thomas Foster.
He is survived by his daughter; Deb (Jeff) Feil of Crossville, TN, 3 sons: John (Brenda) Foster Jr., of Hornell, William (Pat) Foster of Pennsylvania, and Gary “Spud” (Kathy) Foster of Hornell, grandchildren; Melissa (Chris) Brace, Harvey (Sarah) Feil, John (Kim) Foster, Vanessa (Larry) Geffers, Rachelle (Dan) Scott, Tiffani (Ben) Spangler, Chelsea Foster, Allison (Edwin) Parulski, Dana Foster and David Foster II, great-grandchildren; Russell and Luke Brace, Lucy and Eleanor Feil, John IV and Storm Foster, Tyler and Parker Cramer, Harland, Larry Jr. and Nicholas Geffers, William and Wesley Scott, Alexander Spangler and Landon and Hayden Parulski, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present on Sunday (August 12, 2018) from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell,. where funeral services will be held immediately following calling hours at 12 p.m., Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
