Deadly fire in Cattaraugus County

On Tuesday at 2:45 p.m., Troopers responded to a residential fire on Cooper Hill Road in the town of Humphrey.  The cause was not considered suspicious by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Cattaraugus County Fire Investigators. During the investigation a body was recovered from the residence and pronounced at the scene by the Cattaraugus County coroner.  The body will be examined by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for cause of death and identity. The mobile home was completely destroyed. Several fire departments responded to the scene. This is still an active investigation.
