WNY broadcast legend, Irv Weinstein, dies

WKBW photo
Irv Weinstein, a western New York Broadcast giant, has died. Irv commanded TV and radio during the 1970's, 80's and 90's. He launched his career in radio at WHAM in Rochester, but it wasn't long before the hard-hitting news anchor found his home at WKBW-TV in Buffalo. Irv anchored plenty of stories involving Wellsville...to include major fires and the removal of the Town of Wellsville Justice. He lost his battle with ALS while living in California. WKBW never forgot Irv...with reporters traveling to the west coast to speak with the former anchor. Irv was 87.
