Allegany, NY - Ella Mae Gomez, of 4607 S. Cooper Hill Rd., passed away Tuesday (December 12, 2017) as a result of injuries sustained in a house fire.
Born October 5, 1955 in Olean, she was the daughter of Walter K. and Irmal C. Collins Wilber. She was married to Ignacio "Junior" Gomez who predeceased her March 1, 1994.
Ella Mae attended Olean schools, and through the years she enjoyed doing crafts, drawing creative artwork and baking. While married she loved traveling with her husband whom she affectionately called her "truck-driving man".
Surviving are 3 sisters Nina (Glen) Roberts of Wellsville, Daisy Broeckel of Olean and Edith Weatherly of Allegany; 1 brother Calvin Wilber of Franklinville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her parents and a companion Willie Jones.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
