ACCORD’s Allegany Business Center joins the Greater Allegany
County Chamber of Commerce as an Associate Chapter and will chair the Chamber’s
Education Council.
Last year the Alfred Area Business Group and Rushford
Economic Development Organization became the first two business chapters of the
Greater Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber continues to grow, now
adding the ACCORD Business Center as a chapter.
"We are excited to welcome ACCORD’s Business Center as
a new chapter to our chamber. Growing and supporting businesses/tourism in
Allegany County is an important mission of the Chamber & ACCORD’s business
center; because together we are stronger" said Gretchen Hanchett,
executive director of the chamber.
"It is great to see the ACCORD Business center join the
Greater Allegany County Chamber as a chapter and chair of the education
council. These efforts and support to our businesses is important to growing
Allegany County" Curtis Crandall, Chairman of the Allegany County
Legislators.
"Formally joining the Greater Allegany County Chamber
of Commerce as an Associate Chapter is an exciting step for ACCORD’s Allegany
Business Center. It will allow us to maximize our community resources to better
prepare entrepreneurs and businesses for doing business in Allegany
County," said Jeff Stager, ACCORD’s Business and Community Development
Director. "Our goal is work with local people and help them to develop
sustainable businesses that will improve our community. We want to give businesses
the tools necessary to succeed, and joining the Chamber is a great way to
ensure that we are doing it as efficiently as possible."
ACCORD’s Allegany Business Center operates an
Entrepreneurial Assistance Center funded through Empire State Development’s
Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP). Entrepreneurial Assistance Centers
provide instruction, training, technical assistance and support services to
individuals who have recently started their own business or are interested in
starting a business.
